The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is the principal charity of the Royal Navy, which  exists to support sailors, marines and their families, for life.

Beneficiaries lie at the heart of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity’s purpose, it is our duty to remain focused on their needs.  Since 2007, they have funded projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today.  They also distribute millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Seafarers’ Advice & Information Line (SAIL) is the only Citizens Advice service dedicated to seafarers across the UK.  SAIL has been giving support to merchant seafarers and fishermen for 20 years. It has now expanded and can give free advice to anyone who has ever served in the Royal Navy. 

The Trust aids the advancement of the Protestant religion and the charitable work of the Church of England in the parishes of the Diocese of Rochester adjacent to the seaboard of the Medway Towns and the Thames Estuary.  This includes the provision of institutes, hostels and canteens for the benefit of the beneficiaries of the Trust and the provision within, or in conjunction with, any such institutes or hostels of temporary residential accommodation for the beneficiaries in need including the families of such beneficiaries.  The beneficiaries of the Charity are ratings and retired ratings of the Royal Navy, seamen and retired seamen of the Mercantile Marine and men who ordinarily earn their living at sea 

Cobseo, as the Confederation of Service Charities, provides a single point of contact for interaction with Government, including local government and the Devolved Administrations; with the Royal Household; with the Private Sector; and, of course, with other members of the Armed Forces Community.  This allows Cobseo members to interact with all interested parties and especially to cooperate and collaborate with others in order to provide the best possible level of support to our beneficiaries.

In recognition of their service to the Nation, SSAFA works to ensure that the needs of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families are met in an appropriate and timely way, relieving need, suffering and distress in order to support their independence and dignity.

The Royal Marines Association offers support, stability and friendship to the entire Royal Marines Family. Membership is made up of Royal Marine Cadets, recruits, serving and veteran Royal Marines as well as their relatives, those who have served alongside the Corps or who share their values and ethos.
